Fast Recognition of Partial Star Products and Quasi Cartesian Products

چکیده
This paper is concerned with the fast computation of a relation d on the edge set of connected graphs that plays a decisive role in the recognition of approximate Cartesian products, the weak reconstruction of Cartesian products, and the recognition of Cartesian graph bundles with a triangle free basis. A special case of d is the relation δ, whose convex closure yields the product relation σ that induces the prime factor decomposition of connected graphs with respect to the Cartesian product. For the construction of d so-called Partial Star Products are of particular interest. Several special data structures are used that allow to compute Partial Star Products in constant time. These computations are tuned to the recognition of approximate graph products, but also lead to a linear time algorithm for the computation of δ for graphs with maximum bounded degree. Furthermore, we define quasi Cartesian products as graphs with non-trivial δ. We provide several examples, and show that quasi Cartesian products can be recognized in linear time for graphs with bounded maximum degree. Finally, we note that quasi products can be recognized in sublinear time with a parallelized algorithm.

Partial Star Products: A Local Covering Approach for the Recognition of Approximate Cartesian Product Graphs
This paper is concerned with the recognition of approximate graph products with respect to the Cartesian product. Most graphs are prime, although they can have a rich product-like structure. The proposed algorithms are based on a local approach that covers a graph by small subgraphs, so-called partial star products, and then utilizes this information to derive the global factors and an embeddin...
متن کاملDifferent-Distance Sets in a Graph
A set of vertices $S$ in a connected graph $G$ is a different-distance set if, for any vertex $w$ outside $S$, no two vertices in $S$ have the same distance to $w$.The lower and upper different-distance number of a graph are the order of a smallest, respectively largest, maximal different-distance set.We prove that a different-distance set induces either a special type of path or an independent...
متن کاملRestricted cascade and wreath products of fuzzy finite switchboard state machines
A finite switchboard state machine is a specialized finite state machine. It is built by binding the concepts of switching state machines and commutative state machines. The main purpose of this paper is to give a specific algorithm for fuzzy finite switchboard state machine and also, investigates the concepts of switching relation, covering, restricted cascade products and wreath products of f...
متن کاملCartesian closed subcategories of topological fuzzes
A category $mathbf{C}$ is called Cartesian closed provided that it has finite products and for each$mathbf{C}$-object $A$ the functor $(Atimes -): Ara A$ has a right adjoint. It is well known that the category $mathbf{TopFuzz}$ of all topological fuzzes is both complete and cocomplete, but it is not Cartesian closed. In this paper, we introduce some Cartesian closed subcategories of this cat...
متن کاملSharp Upper bounds for Multiplicative Version of Degree Distance and Multiplicative Version of Gutman Index of Some Products of Graphs
In $1994,$ degree distance of a graph was introduced by Dobrynin, Kochetova and Gutman. And Gutman proposed the Gutman index of a graph in $1994.$ In this paper, we introduce the concepts of multiplicative version of degree distance and the multiplicative version of Gutman index of a graph. We find the sharp upper bound for the multiplicative version of degree distance and multiplicative ver...
